" Inspired by the constant changing of the seasons, Michelin-starred Fera at Claridge's is a creative and natural take on modern British cuisine. Renowned chef Simon Rogan's ever-changing à la carte and tasting menus capture the true essence of nature through its textures, tastes and sense of perpetual evolution."

It was a lovely Sunday and as an early birthday celebration, we booked Lunch at Michelin Starred, Fera at Claridge's.
We went for the lunch menu du jour : a three course meal and a glass of champagne ( or a non-alcoholic cocktail) at £35 per person, and we thoroughly enjoyed it!

Rosemary crackers with blue cheese mousse and elderberry
Homemade bread with sunflower seeds
Salted caramel butter

Bramley apple cake, cinnamon ice-cream and pecan
Smoked chocolate, peanut ice-cream and verjus caramel

Mignardises : Lovely soft marshmallows and Pine nut toffees

The food was cooked to perfection at every course, seasoned just right and beautifully served as expected. I would not say that it was out of this world but for the reasonably priced menu du jour, I was fully satisfied.

We had two choices for each course except for the main which had an additional vegetarian option. The salmon starter was nice and fresh with a very delicate mix flavours while the artichokes was served on a powerful goat's cheese sauce which hubby didn't like at all (not being a big fan of strong cheeses).
For Mains, I had the Roasted cod, kale leaves in lobster cream, salt baked kohlrabi, mustard and dill which I enjoyed very much and hubby went for the 'manly meat' option, The Lake District pork belly and jowl, parsnips, roast cauliflower puree, buckwheat. Both dishes were very good.

The desserts were nothing special in my opinion, having had much better ones at other Michelin starred restaurants but overall a very nice experience in a sophisticated yet comfortable atmosphere. Service was attentive and professional and the Birthday Card was a nice touch signed by the Chef and the team.
